Over 300 guests were in attendance at the 13th Annual Ultimate Hoedown Bowling Throw Down, hosted by Olive Crest in Riverside. Attired in their very best western garb, attendees enjoyed a fun-filled event held at Arlington Lanes. Toyota of Riverside was honored at this event for their over 20 year commitment to supporting Olive Crest, an organization that works in the prevention of child abuse. Well attended by Toyota of Riverside management, the event raised over $ 50,000 to be utilized for programs and services for the children of Olive Crest. “Olive Crest over the years has enjoyed the long-standing support of the business community, and we could not have accomplished what we have in helping protect children without this vital support,” stated Lois Verleur, who in 1973 founded Olive Crest with her husband, Dr. Donald Verleur. “Tom Winterling and all Toyota of Riverside employees are a shining example of this business support. Because of Tom, his entire team at Toyota of Riverside, and their customers, Olive Crest has been the recipient of over $1 million in support,” Verleur continued. The Hutcheson family shared their story at the event, recounting how their family of four has grown to a family of five with their newest addition, Ella. Through their time as an Olive Crest foster family, they have been able to help multiple children by providing them a safe home and loving family. Although many of the children only stayed temporarily, Ella has found her forever family with the Hutchesons. The Hutchesons look forward to Ella’s adoption the first week in June, and to helping other children in need. Event Sponsors included Toyota of Riverside, Hub International, John & Janet Gless, Gar Labs, Tom & Candace Spiel, MacDonald’s on University Avenue, Rivco Wealth Management, Gresham, Savage, Nolan & Tilden Law Office, Custom Service Systems, Philadelphia Insurance Companies, West Coast Electrical Contractors, and Varner & Brandt.
