Victorville Police Station welcomes its newest K9 to the LE family. K9 Raider was born on Feb. 16, 2015 in Iowa and began his training at the early age of 8 weeks.
Raider, a Bloodhound trained in tracking and trailing, along with his handler, Deputy Antonio Higuera, will be fundamental in locating missing persons and suspects. Deputy Higuera and K9 Raider completed training that consisted of tracking and running sent trails in both rural and urban areas. Together they will be essential to the safety and security of the city of Victorville.
Deputy Antonio Higuera introduced K-9 Raider to the attendees of the Victorville Chamber of Commerce meeting yesterday. K-9 Raider was officially sworn in by Undersheriff Joe Cusimano. His badge was proudly presented by Captain Sam Lucia who welcomed him as the newest member of the Victorville Police Department.
