The Pumpkin Patch at Live Oak Canyon in Redlands is prepared for another season of fun on the farm, and ready to share the fields full of pumpkins and squash. Families can pick their own pumpkins out of the U-Pick fields. The shaded Picked-4-U tent has thousands of pumpkins, gourds, winter squash and Indian corn ready for fall decorating fun. The Pumpkin Patch has many performance areas packed with entertainment each weekend featuring live music, circus performers, dancers, comedy acts, magicians, western gunfighters and more. The Gift Shop has fall and Halloween decorations and the farm setting is full of ideas to help inspire creativity for seasonal decorating. The Family Fun Zone features more than 20 thrilling attractions that will please kids of all ages. There are even pony rides for young buckaroos. Food is also available from over a dozen specially selected food vendors located near the shaded picnic areas. The Petting Zoo has many baby goats, sheep and bunnies and the aviary is a close encounter with pheasants, quail, doves, ducks and many other birds. The 2013 Corn Maze provides a labyrinth of corn stalks, a farm challenge that residents are encouraged to experience. Each night beginning Oct. 4 the pumpkin patch stays open through 9 p.m., coming alive with thousands of colorful kaleidoscope, laser and strobe lights—no spooks, just fun. Special Events for 2013 include a Youth Music Weekend, Female Music Weekend, Food Truck Festival and Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebrations. Visit www.liveoakcanyon.com for a full schedule of events. The Pumpkin Patch at Live Oak Canyon is open from Sept. 21 through Nov. 2, seven days a week.

A residence shows visible damage from flooding, mud and debris following severe winter storms that began Dec. 23, which brought heavy rain and debris flows to mountain and high desert communities across San Bernardino County. This week, the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved recovery-related fee waivers to help eligible property owners repair and rebuild as response and long-term recovery efforts continue.
