Colton residents have had and will continue to have the chance to see their Colton Fire Department, partnered with the Loma Linda Fire Department, as fire units adorned in festive holiday decorations caravan throughout the neighborhoods in the 2014 Parade of Lights. Beginning Dec. 15 and running through Dec. 20, Colton residents are viewing the display and have the chance to see this season's most popular man: Santa Claus is escorted on a decorated sleigh by Colton Fire. Children may also enjoy candy canes distributed by Santa and fire department personnel. Fire officials explained that the use of emergency sirens will announce the parade in each neighborhood, scheduled on six different nights. Fire officials also warn parents not to drive down one-way streets and cul-de-sacs, and advise parents to walk carefully with children to the nearest intersection to see Santa and receive a candy cane. The neighborhood schedule for the annual Parade of Lights is as follows: * Wednesday, Dec. 17 - West end of the city (Valley Boulevard to Randall Avenue, Meridian Avenue to Sycamore Avenue) * Thursday, Dec. 18 – La Loma Hills and South Colton * Friday, Dec. 19 – Cooley Ranch area * Saturday, Dec. 20 – Reche Canyon area The Loma Linda Fire Department will also host Santa and pass out candy canes on these dates: * Sunday, Dec. 21 - South end of Loma Linda (Barton Road to the north, Laurel Avenue to the east, Beaumont Avenue to the south) * Monday, Dec. 22 – North end of Loma Linda (California Street to the east, Rosewood Drive to the north, Anderson Street to the west, Barton Road to the south.
