The time has finally arrived. The mid-term elections are just a few days away on November 6th. We have spent the last few weeks, and months even listening to our candidates and considering what they have to say. Who will be most beneficial to our community? Who is the candidate that will help our great city of San Bernardino strive and become better? Well, that choice is entirely in your hands now.
Residents have gone to the forums, visited the webpages, and followed the social media accounts. It is now our turn for us, members of our respective communities, to carefully consider the people in whom we believe and trust in. The ones we feel will do their best to lead the city, make the difficult choices, and ultimately, listen to our concerns. Now, here are your candidates, measures and polling places that are local to you:
Candidates for City Council Ward 1:

Your city measures to vote on:
Measure CC - San Bernardino Community College District, California, Measure CC, Bond Issue.
A yes vote is a vote in favor of allowing the community college district to issue $470 million in bonds, with an estimated tax of 2.5 cents per $100 of assessed value, to fund facility upgrades. A no vote is a vote against allowing the community college district to issue $470 million in bonds, with an estimated tax of 2.5 cents per $100 of assessed value, to fund facility upgrades.
Measure W - Marijuana Tax
A yes vote is a vote in favor of allowing the city to impose a tax on marijuana businesses of up to $10.00 per square foot for nurseries and up to 6 percent of gross receipts for other businesses. A no vote is a vote against allowing the city to impose a tax on marijuana businesses of up to $10.00 per square foot for nurseries and up to 6 percent of gross receipts for other businesses.
Measure X - Marijuana Business Regulation - This measure was designed to amend and reenact Ordinance No. MC-1464, an ordinance adopted by the San Bernardino City Council on March 7, 2018, to regulate commercial marijuana activity in the city.
A yes vote is a vote in favor of this measure to amend and reenact a city ordinance establishing regulations on marijuana business, including a cap on the number of marijuana businesses that may operate in the city. A no vote is a vote against this measure to amend and reenact an existing city ordinance concerning the authorization and regulation of marijuana businesses.
