Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to Host Third Annual Gala and Awards Dinner

COLTON>> Arrowhead Regional Medical Center will host its Third Annual Gala and Awards Dinner Oct. 6, 2016, at 5:30 p.m. to honor the hard working health care practitioners at ARMC, as well as to benefit the Cardiac Clinic Program at ARMC. The fundraising event will be held in the Valencia Room of the National Orange Show Events Center, located at 689 S. E St, San Bernardino, CA 92408. “We look forward to honoring ARMC clinicians and staff that reflect our mission to be the heart of a healthy community” said Zachary D. Tucker, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Foundation President. “Additionally, we will be raising awareness of the critical need to expand ARMC’s cardiac clinic to meet the needs of our patients.” Five medical practitioners will be honored in five separate categories. Dr. Michael M. Neeki, DO, MS, FACEP, will be given the Arrowhead Vanguard Award. According to a press release, Neeki’s exemplary service to the medical profession earns him this honor, as well as his efforts to support research at ARMC. He is also being commended for his part in ARMC’s response to the community in relationship to the San Bernardino shooting on Dec. 2, 2015. He was selected by the ARMC Foundation Board for his service to the medical center and the community. Dr. Martha L. Melendez, M.D. will be awarded Physician of the Year as she will be recognized her service to the profession, to ARMC’s medical staff as past chief of staff and her caring service to ARMC patients. Erin McMeans, BSN, RN, will be awarded Nurse Leader of the Year. McMeans was elected by her peers for exemplary leadership, patient experience unit scores and implementation. Additionally, for recognizing follow-through on nursing and hospital initiatives as well as compassion, family-centered care, excellence and accountability to nursing practice, according to a press release. To continue the festivities, Rorey Walker, RN, CCRN, will be awarded Nurse of the Year. Rorey was selected for his follow-through on nursing and hospital initiatives as well as compassion, family-centered care, excellence and accountability to nursing practice, according to a press release. For the final honoree, Eric Arnott, building, plant and security manager will be awarded ARMC Employee of the Year. Arnott is recognized by ARMC leadership for his work in helping to achieve the Countywide Vision at ARMC. He received an Excellence/Public Service Award by the County Board of Supervisors.
