Photography from local artist has filled the Redlands Art Associations gallery with color, life, and exuberance. The photographs capture different points of view from the photographer and are on display at the Redlands Art Associations photo show. Some offer a glimpse into the mind of the artist while others capture the vast serene open spaces of nature. Photography isn’t the only thing on display, and as you make your way to the show there is plenty for the eye to soak in. Many art pieces from local artists fill each and every available space. The President of the Redlands Art Association, Liz Coviello welcomes any local artist to join the association and become a friend. Friends of the Redlands Art Association may submit pieces to the gallery for shows or even become one of the many-featured artists who cycle through. The Redlands Art Association has been around for over fifty years. A local artist and businessman named Ben Rabe realized that the area was in need of an art association. The association got its start showing art work in a corner of the Fox Theater and it grew from there. Now, the association has grown to be a cultural centerpiece of what is now art in our time. If you feel the need to make or create something but, not sure where to start, the Redlands Art Association offers classes for youth, and adults alike from drawing to painting and everything in between. The next show will be a juried event entitled the Multi Media Mini Show and can typically expect up to 300 pieces submitted for consideration. If you feel like you have something to offer, would like to find out more information on the gallery or as Liz Coviello says “become a friend of the Redlands Art Association.” Check out their website at http://redlands-art.org.
