Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) celebrates National Hospital Week, May 10 - 16, 2020, recognizing the importance of each and every health care member of the ARMC team and the integral role they play in the wellness of the community. From physicians and nurses to staff and volunteers who work together providing compassionate care affecting the lives of patients is what makes ARMC “The Heart of a Healthy Community.”

This year’s Hospital Week theme at ARMC is “Celebrating our Health Care Heroes.” Throughout the hospital, staff are being recognized at ARMC with themed Spirit Days and other celebrations to recognize their outstanding contributions.

“This important week gives us the opportunity to recognize our entire health care team, and especially this year as we applaud them for their dedication to our patients during the COVID-19 crisis,” said ARMC Hospital Director, William Gilbert. “They have demonstrated their commitment to the health care profession going above and beyond to deliver compassionate quality health care at this time.”

As the nation’s largest health care event, National Hospital Week is a celebration of the history, technology and dedicated professionals that make hospitals exceptional places to receive care. Celebrating National Hospital Week provides an opportunity to thank all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions. Not only is ARMC a place where people go for medical assistance, it is also one of the top employers in the region.

ARMC is recognized for providing efficient, innovative and compassionate care and has been recognized with many awards including most recently the 2020 Inland Empire Magazine Reader’s Choice Award and for the third year in a row, “Best Hospital” in the Reader’s Choice Awards by The San Bernardino Sun and the Redlands Daily Facts. Additional awards include the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award, and two Achievement Awards presented by the National Association of Counties (NACo).

Arrowhead Regional Medical Center is a 456-bed university-affiliated teaching hospital licensed by the State of California Department of Public Health, operated by the County of San Bernardino, and governed by the Board of Supervisors. It is ARMC’s mission, in an environment of learning and innovation, to serve our diverse community with high-quality compassionate care. The hospital, located on a 70-acre campus in Colton, California, operates the Edward G. Hirschman burn center, a level II trauma center, primary stroke center, a behavioral health center, and four family health centers. ARMC also provides more than 40 outpatient specialty care services. ARMC is helping to achieve the Countywide Vision by addressing the community’s wellness and educational needs. ARMC is the primary teaching hospital for the California University of Science and Medicine (CUSM). The University welcomed its first class of students in 2018. The School of Medicine is an allopathic (M.D.) school, and is the first new, privately funded, not-for-profit medical school to earn accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) since 1949.
