San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies have identified a San Bernardino man accused of stalking multiple women at the Blue Mountain hiking trails in Grand Terrace. Deputies identified 48-year-old Rosalio Padilla on Sept. 17 after identifying a blue van matching the description of a vehicle that several women had reported seeing in the area, deputies said in a news release Friday morning. Deputies had been investigating claims of stalking in the Blue Mountain hiking trails area after receiving a report from a female hiker on Sept. 12 about a suspicious male on the trails. The woman described the man as a Hispanic male and claimed he used his saliva and other bodily fluids to draw a heart on her vehicle window. The woman reported this was the third time the male had done this. Deputies said she did not know the man and had not seen him prior to these incidents. Sheriff's deputies said additional female hikers reported similar incidents in the area, matching Padilla's description. Deputies said all the women had reported seeing Padilla at once a week in the area of the Blue Mountain hiking trails. When sheriff's deputies located the vehicle matching the description on Sept. 17, they located Padilla inside the van, they said. The release stated Padilla was detained and later arrested on suspicion of stalking. He was booked at the Central Detention Center.
