Train Testing Continues

By San Bernardino County Transport Authority

04/05/2022 at 04:29 PM

Train testing throughout the 9-mile Arrow corridor has begun and will continue until service starts later this year. Metrolink and DMU trains are being used to test the tracks, signals at the crossings, and communication systems.

Testing with DMU trains is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Friday, April 1. For safety, and in compliance with the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) regulations, horns (two long, one short, one long) and bells will sound at street crossings throughout the 9-mile corridor during testing.

Nighttime train testing (6:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) of the DMU trains between G Street and Tippecanoe Avenue is tentatively scheduled to occur on Thursday, April 7, Friday, April 8, and Saturday, April 9 (into Sunday morning).

Intermittent daytime (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) lane closures will occur at local grade crossings between E Street and Church Street. Through travel/two-way travel will remain at all times at each location.

Roadway and pedestrian gates will be in full operation to provide traffic and pedestrian control at each of the intersections/crossings. If needed, flaggers and safety personnel will be onsite to assist with motorists and pedestrians at the intersections/crossings.

Please remember train testing is dynamic and the schedule may change.
