Rancho Verde High School is pleased to announce Jeff Steinberg as the Mustangs’ new head football coach. The decision comes after an extensive search of many qualified candidates. In the end, his experience and commitment to excellence made him the standout candidate. Jeff Steinberg comes to RVHS from Santiago High School where he coached for 5 years. During his tenure at Santiago High School, he was able to assist athletes in gaining athletic scholarships at both NCAA and NAIA schools across the country. His offenses are among the top in the county statistically each year. Steinberg mentored quarterback Blake Barnett, the nation’s #1 ranked pro-style quarterback who committed to University of Alabama. This past season, Steinberg accepted an invitation to be an assistant coach in the prestigious Under Armour All American Game. Prior to Santiago High School, Jeff coached at Burroughs High School from 1998 to 2005, and A.B. Miller High School from 2006-2008. During his career, he has revitalized three different football programs by developing young men with the mission of excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community. He has 122 wins, 13 Playoff Appearances, CIF Finalist in 2003, and CIF Southern Section Champion in 2005. Coach Steinberg resides in Beaumont with his wife Jocelyn and their 4 children. “I am extremely humble and excited to come to a great school in Rancho Verde of the Val Verde Unified School District and work to build on the past success the football program has had under Pete Duffy. This will be an opportunity to continue to grow the program and develop our athletes academically, socially and athletically,” said Coach Steinberg.
