The Ontario Museum of History & Art has launched the Water Keepers mobile application, an engaging and educational tool that complements its latest permanent exhibit, Built on Water: Ontario and Inland Southern CaliforniaWater Keepers is an interactive experience that invites users to delve into the past, present, and future of water management, blending history, science, and art in a gamified adventure.

Through choose-your-own adventure storytelling and thought-provoking puzzle challenges, Water Keepers transports players across time, immersing them in the challenges faced by three unique characters and their water-related dilemmas. The application introduces you to three water professionals: a citrus farmer, a water quality manager, and a water resource engineer. The app not only educates but also empowers users to make informed decisions regarding water conservation. Aligned with Common Core/Next Gen Science standards, Water Keepers is a valuable resource for educators, students, parents with their children, and anyone interested in deepening their understanding of responsible water usage. This free mobile application is now available for download on both the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

“This is the Museum’s first app and we had so much fun creating this gamified experience that really exemplifies what Built on Water is all about,” said Miriam Valle-Mancilla, the Museum’s Curator of Education. “As we invite the community to try it out, we encourage everyone to further their understanding of the importance of our water usage and to care for this vital resource.”

The Ontario Museum of History & Art is located at 225 S. Euclid Avenue, Ontario, CA 91762. Hours are Thursday and Friday, Noon to 4 PM, and Saturday and Sunday, 11 AM to 5 PM. Admission to the Museum and exhibit is free. To learn more about Built on Water and to download the app visit, www.ontariomuseum.org/built-on-water/.
