"Brothers and Sisters:

After I grew up in poverty and had one of my friends shot and killed 3 blocks from my childhood home, I knew that politicians had failed us. I knew it from seeing schools fail students by not giving them inflation proof jobs, but only debt. I knew it from seeing essential workers given poverty wages. I knew it when I saw graduates with bright futures return to violence.

It is time for change.

As the only alumni and youth community organizer stopping street violence who was also an international educator, student government leader, and Co-Chair of an organization fighting for our diverse communities, I organize with working families, and not politicians.

It is why I fight for modern vocational training, student fee reductions, anti violence mentoring, and honest wages for our staff. It is why I support term limits and am the only candidate in this race to reject corporate PAC and special interest money. Join the California School Employees Association Local 291, Inland Empire Labor Council, Community Organizers and Leaders from Redlands, Loma Linda, San Bernardino, and Colton in supporting Christian Shaughnessy for Board of Trustees. And not the special interests!"
