GRAND TERRACE >> Tweet, tweet! The winning participant of the Row by Row Experience at Bluebird Quilts & Gallery has been selected. Brianne Kroupa from Murrieta, California walked in July 14 with her quilted, labeled and bound quilt. She explained she was inspired from the store's row (themed "America, my home sweet home!") and kept with the red, white and blue theme throughout the rest of the quilt. Having collected her patterns, she resourcefully used fabrics from her stash. Her father suggested that she carry the "star" theme to the corners to help complete the setting of her quilt. Brianne has been a Row by Row participant for three years now. She mentioned she really loved her quilt this year, and Bluebird does, too. The staff would like to congratulate Brianne on a job well done. Her prize was 25 fat quarters of Kaffe Fassett print fabrics with a souvenir bluebird on top. Her additional prize for including the store's row was an additional 25 fat quarters of fabric from Kaffe Fassett's wovens. There is still plenty of time to make your Row by Row Experience Quilt and submit to another store for prizes. Whether you have or have not picked up Bluebird's row, you can still find a lot of great items that go with the Row by Row event. Bluebird carries the charm holders and charms, and they now have a fabric stamp that says "Road Trip." You can also add Aug. 1 to your calendar, for a big event at Bluebird Quilts & Gallery. Store owner Janet Bottroff will celebrate her birthday. She calls it the "39th Birthday Revisited Sale" and there are always specials on that date. However, more info about the special sales will not be released until a few days before the event. So for now, plan to keep that date open. Bluebird Quilts & Gallery hours are Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The shop is located at 22320 Barton Road, Suite A in Grand Terrace, California.
