Grand Terrace Cub Scouts Pack 242 Prepares for Fun

Grand Terrace Cub Scouts Pack 242 are currently selling popcorn through October to raise money for their Pack. The popcorn is being sold at Stater Brother’s “or contact your nearest Cub Scout, they will gladly sell their popcorn,” Pack 242 Assistant Leader Chantel Menzie-Williams added. All the money raised will go towards camping trips, awards, and supplies. “Any monetary donations given instead of purchases get lumped together to purchase popcorn to send to our U.S. military troops,” Menzie-Williams said. As well as camping trips, and other events, the money raised goes toward awards for the Pack. From first graders to fifth graders with about 25 to 30 kids, every Pack strives to meet certain ranks and goals; once they do, they are awarded for their hard work. The Troop recently toured the USS Iowa and will participate in many upcoming events such as camping trips, parades, local flag ceremonies, veteran’s appreciation ceremonies, caroling, bicycle rodeo, den activities, Pinewood Derby and many more. “We usually participate in Grand Terrace Days, and I think we are geared for a space race this year,” Menzie Williams added. If the Grand Terrace Cub Scout Pack 242 is something you would be interested in getting your child involved in, please attend one of the weekly meetings at Terrace Hills Middle School at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
