REDLANDS >> Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside is seeking information on its history leading up to its 50th anniversary in August 2017. The Club has few historical documents and photos dating before the 1990s, including from its founding period. “We’d like the community’s help recovering our history so we have a complete picture of how we got from where we started to where we are today – especially those who helped us get here,” said CEO P.T. McEwen. Anyone previously affiliated with the Club is invited to get in contact by calling (888) 822-6535, ext. 207, or email info@bgcie.org. Former members, employees and volunteers can bring in photos and T-shirts. Additionally, the Club is seeking agendas, minutes, financials, and event photos from former board members. The organization was founded as Boys’ Club of Redlands in August 1967, and was originally headquartered in an old packinghouse at 1125 N. Sixth St. The organization opened its current administrative offices and clubhouse at 1251 Clay St. in 2007. The Club will kick off its 50 th anniversary celebration with Day For Kids in September, and is planning to hold a gala next spring.
