CRIME REPORT: Attempted Murder in Loma Linda

LOMA LINDA >> On Friday May 6, 2016, at approximately 4:23 PM deputies from the Sheriff's Central Station (Loma Linda) responded to Sammy's Market located at 25403 Redlands Boulevard in reference to a stabbing. When deputies arrived on scene, they observed the victim walking towards them covered in blood, and the suspect, Ben Ballinger, a 34 year old Loma Linda resident, walking behind him holding a pair of scissors. Deputies immediately detained Ballinger and rendered medical aid to the victim while they waited for medical personnel to respond. During the investigation, deputies learned that Ballinger stabbed the victim multiple times in an unprovoked attack. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment. Ballinger was arrested for PC 664/187, Attempted Murder and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $1,000,000 bail.
