The City of Moreno Valley has once again been recognized for excellence in public communication, earning an Excellence in Public Information & Communications (EPIC) Award from the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) during CAPIO's annual conference.

The City received top honors in the Video Production – Marketing Series – In-House category for its informative “MoVal Now” monthly video series. The recognition marks the seventh CAPIO award earned by Moreno Valley since 2019, further highlighting the City’s continued commitment to transparent, engaging, and innovative communication with the community.

“MoVal Now” showcases important City news, programs, events, and initiatives for Moreno Valley residents. The City’s Media & Communications division completed every aspect of production, including scriptwriting, videography, editing, and distribution across the City’s digital and social media platforms.

“The City’s Media & Communications Team consistently does amazing work to inform our community,” said Mayor Ulises Cabrera, congratulating the team on the achievement. “Year after year, they make MoVal proud with their impressive collection of awards and recognitions, setting the standards for other municipalities to emulate.”

City officials noted that the award reflects Moreno Valley’s ongoing investment in high-quality public engagement and accessible communication tools that help keep residents informed and connected.

The California Association of Public Information Officials is the leading statewide organization dedicated to advancing public-sector communicators across all levels of government. CAPIO supports nearly 1,200 members representing municipal and state agencies, school districts, counties, public safety agencies, special districts, and private public relations firms through professional development, education, and networking opportunities.
