October 25, 2025, the Colton Women’s Club celebrated its remarkable 125th anniversary, marking more than a century of service, friendship, and community leadership.

Christina Gaitan, Chamber Coordinator for the Colton Chamber of Commerce, was honored to serve as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. Gaitan dedicated many hours to rehearsing her script and participated in two practice sessions at the Women’s Club ahead of the celebration to ensure a flawless program.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome and opening remarks from Club President Delma Ledesma, who delivered a heartfelt three-minute speech highlighting the organization’s enduring legacy. Following her introduction, Gaitan graciously thanked Ledesma for the opportunity to be part of such a historic occasion before introducing the distinguished guests in attendance.

Among those recognized were Martha Pritchard, Area D Vice President of the California Federation of Women’s Clubs; Joanie Miller, San Bernardino District President; a representative for Senator Eloise Gómez Reyes; District 3 Councilmember Dr. G; District 2 Councilwoman Kelly Chastain; and Councilmember John Echevarria. Nina Sandoval, representative for the Colton Public Library, was also acknowledged for the library’s historical connection to the club’s founding.

The celebration was organized by a dedicated planning committee that met monthly—and more frequently in recent weeks—to ensure every detail was perfect. The day’s program included a fashion show highlighting styles from various decades, a condensed presentation of the club’s history, raffles, photo opportunities, and a luncheon served with elegance and care.

Members of the Colton High School Football Team volunteered during the luncheon, courteously serving coffee, water, and lunch plates to attendees. Their service added a special touch to the event’s atmosphere of community and respect.

Overall, the celebration was a tremendous success, with an excellent turnout, a smoothly followed agenda, and beautiful, elegant decorations that reflected the occasion’s importance.

The City News Group extends heartfelt congratulations to the Colton Women’s Club on 125 years of outstanding service, leadership, and community dedication—and best wishes for many more years of continued success.
