Congrats Class of 2024!

Another academic year is coming to a close for our Moreno Valley students, faculty, and administration. Many of you will be walking across the stage to accept a certificate or diploma to acknowledge your hard work and dedication, not only for this past year, but for every year that has led up to this moment as well.

Your educational journey has had many ups and downs along the way. I’m sure it wasn’t easy, but you have made it through this chapter in your life.

As the Class of 2024, you have persevered. You have officially earned the distinction of calling yourself a graduate. You deserve every right, privilege, and responsibility that comes with that title.

But it’s important to reflect on the fact that it is called a “commencement ceremony” for a reason. It’s not because your education may be ending. Rather, it alludes to the beginning – or commencement – of your future.

As you begin the next chapter of your life, I want to personally congratulate you on achieving this milestone.

The diploma, degree, or certificate you’ve earned will be displayed at your own home or office, but it represents the efforts of so many people who care about you and your future: the teachers who challenged you and constantly pushed you to achieve more; the tutors and study partners that helped you figure out those tough problems and projects; and, of course, the family members that supported you every step of the way.

When you walk across that graduation stage, hold that diploma high, but hold your head even higher. We are all proud of you, and we can’t wait to see where your dreams and ambitions take you.

I said it last year, and I will say it again: As you move on to your next stage in life, I hope you look at the M and know that Moreno Valley is cheering you on every step of the way.

Congratulations to the class of 2024!

Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
