On Saturday May 4, the Grand Terrace Civic Center welcomed the public to come in and view the featured artwork from local artists. For many years, artists attend the exhibit to showcase their work. At the same time, they get the chance to see what other artists have created. From oil paintings, photography, to quilted fiber art, and many more this exhibit contains art off all types. Luz Perez has showcased many of her oil paintings in the art show before. Luz has always been an artist and started at an early age. Over the years she has done professional paintings and began teaching painting classes as well. A couple of her student's paintings were also available in the exhibit. One of Luz's paintings features the Mission Inn Hotel located in Riverside. As an active participant in the art show for the past seven years, a Wildlife Biologist and photographer Lisa Wadley, was able to capture rare, amazing photographs of animals in their natural state. She shared that she had to get close enough to each animal to get the perfect photograph. The Grand Terrace Historical and Cultural Activities Committee organizes the show each year to make the event enjoyable for the public and artists. Welcoming guests with snacks and beverages, the public was able to view all the artwork and meet the artists themselves. Commitment and dedication are represented well in their paintings as they pay close attention to detail when making their piece. Since the very first Grand Terrace Art Show, the event has given artists the opportunity to showcase their work to the community and give the public the chance to appreciate all the time and effort put into each piece of work.
