MORENO VALLEY>> On Sunday, June 11 local organization Phearless will host their first ever community event at 3:00 p.m. at the Phearless Art Studio in the Elsworth shopping center.

Titled, “Summer of Love Art Solstice” the art infused event will not only feature an art walk, but food, crafts, artisan, vintage and retail vendors, live music and more.

On October 1 of 2016, Burleson opened Phearless Art Studio, located at 22455 Alessandro Blvd Ste. 119, Moreno Valley, CA 92553. The studio offers painting events throughout the week and weekend but they also offer a Chicago Steppin’ class and free Meditation. The studio has a Notary and event planner on premise as well.

The idea for Phearless Art Studio began While Burleson was volunteering at the Moreno Valley Senior Center. While serving lunches to participants, Burleson decided to bring art to those who had experienced a

similar ordeal as she had.

Since opening Phearless, Burleson  has gone on to become an ambassador at One Legacy, a transplant donor network, as well as voice for those who are in desperate need of organ transplants. Burleson currently speaks at different city council meetings in The Inland Empire, explaining her story and the importance of organ donation.

Phearless Art studio not only hires local artists, but has donated to breast cancer survivors and hosted paint parties for autistic children and disabled adults. “My time of recovery was more debilitating,” said Burleson. “I was weak, depressed, and had no outlet.

In search of a way to brighten my spirits, I took up painting. Painting was therapeutic for me. It was a good way to relax. It improved my concentration, sharpened my fine motor skills, and implored me to use my critical thinking skills. It proved as a way of self-expression and creativity.

Upon completion of my projects, my confidence would be up and mindset was positive.”Phearless Art Studio was founded on the idea that by providing a positive and influential impact on the community, others will be encouraged to do the same.

Programs that are beneficial to the community and provide enrichment to the community are what Burleson seeks to bring to Moreno Valley. “Our hope is to provide citizens with different abilities an unforgettable social experience while rehabilitating and healing the spirit,” said Burleson.

The event is free for all patrons. Vendors include Dot Dot Smile, Indigenous Decent, Damsel in Defense, and Perfectly Posh.

Artistry will include the works of Jessica Cruz and Demar Douglas. For future events or if interested in becoming a vendor, please contact Portia at (951) 422-5206 or email phearlesscorporation@gmail.com.
