Businesses Find Success at the Hampton Inn

The Hampton Inn & Suites in Colton hosted its third business mixer last week. Hotel management agrees that support from the community and the city is what makes this hotel thrive. Lesley Stevens, the Sales Manager of The Hampton Inn stated, “The Hampton, Colton in the last year has been very community minded and is now becoming the ‘go to’ place for city officials to meet and network.” The Hampton has become the ideal place for city officials and community leaders to host important political platforms. For instance, the Hampton will be hosting the kick off campaign for the mayor’s daughter, Summer Zamora Jorrin, who is running for a seat on the city council. Like every other event that the Hampton holds, Jorrin’s campaign will mutually support her and the hotel’s efforts. Just last year, the Hampton was fortunate enough to host significant events such as the campaign launch for Assemblymember Cheryl R. Brown as well as Daniel Flores’ campaign for the seat on the Colton Joint Unified School Board. Opportunities like these give the Hampton the exposure into the area that it really needs. With the 10% occupancy tax from every room night going back to the City of Colton, city representatives agree that supporting the hotel's occupancy is advantageous. Vanir Development, who owns the Hampton Inn & Suites Colton is very pleased with the direction that the hotel is going. The hotel has a very strong presence in the community and is continually thriving with the ongoing support from the city. Though the Hampton doesn’t have the same everyday foot traffic as other properties do on Hospitality Lane, it has the endorsement from city administrators that has proved valuable to the property. “The Hampton Inn is experiencing a tremendous growth trend and the recent success is directly related to community support,” Stevens adds. With people like Art Morgan, Economic Developer for Colton, calling in and advising Stevens on new businesses coming into town, the Hampton is able to fulfill lodging needs before anyone else.
