Women’s Soccer Stars Sign Letters of Intent

SBVC Women’s Soccer midfielder Victoria Valadez (Perris Citrus Hill), goal keeper Brianna Bianchi (Rialto H.S.) and midfielder Kaitlyn Herrin (Redlands Citrus Valley) have all signed letters of intent, with Valadez heading to Prairie View A&M, Bianchi going to Nyack and Herrin making her way to East Central. Bianchi will join SBVC Women’s soccer alum Diana Hernandez at Nyack College, Valadez will join alum Celene Batrez at Prairie View A&M University and Herrin will join alum Milan Galloway at East Central University. Herrin was named second team All-Foothill Conference this past fall and scoring right goals with five assists, including two game winning goals. Herrin was also named an Honorable Mention All-Foothill Conference in 2012. Bianchi had four shutouts this past fall playing in 11 games and starting eight. She played 852:44 in goal for SBVC and had a Goals Against Average of 0.3 and a save percentage of .923. Valadez participated in 11 contests this past fall and scoring a goal at home against Cerro Coso on November 12. Valadez was named an Honorable Mention All-Foothill Conference in 2012. Under the tutelage of tenth-year coach Kristin Hauge, SBVC Women's Soccer won their fifth Foothill Conference Championship and made a seventh straight playoff appearance. The team finished the year with a 17-3-2 overall record and a 9-1 conference record. They were rewarded with a #3 seed in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a reward for their fifth Conference Championship, the team was bestowed with four first team All-Conference honors and four second team All-Conference honors. Nyack College is located in Nyack, New York, which is on the shores of the Hudson River about 30 miles north of New York City. The Nyack Warriors play at Mosley Field, and the team is coached by second-year coach, Sam Oduro. According to the school’s athletics website coach Oduro commented, “We are glad to add Brianna to the Nyack soccer family. She will add depth to our goalkeeping department and expect her to immediately contribute to the program as we continue pressing on the upward way.” Nyack competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and plays in NCAA Division II. East Central University is located in the community of Ada, Oklahoma which is about 85 miles southeast of Oklahoma City. The ECU Tigers play at the ECU Soccer Field and are coached by 5 year veteran, Riley Bailey. ECU is in the Great American Conference of NAIA. Prairie View A&M University is located in the community of Prairie View, Texas which is less than 50 miles northwest of Houston. The PVAMU Panthers play at Edward L. Blackshear Field and are coached by 6 year veteran, Abe Garcia. PVAMU is in the Southwestern Athletic Conference–West Division of NCAA Division I-AA.
