A tale of friendship, betrayal, bitter rivalry, sea battles and deadly chariot races comes to life on stage as LifeHouse Theater presents the return of its award-winning musical, “Ben-Hur.” “Ben-Hur” was first performed in 1992 at the Arrowhead Bowl in San Bernardino to popular and critical acclaim, winning awards for directing, writing and acting. “As one of the first original productions ever presented by LifeHouse Theater, it marks a special event to have ‘Ben-Hur’ as part of our anniversary 20th season,” observes LifeHouse founder and president, Wayne Scott. “We’ve added some surprises and a new musical number. The theatrical staging of the sea battle, chariot race, and crucifixion all combine for an unforgettable and inspirational experience.” “Only a handful of shows make the emotional impact on our guests as ‘Ben-Hur’ does,” adds LifeHouse General Manager Jeff DeWitt. “It’s very exciting to see a whole new generation discover this powerful musical.” “Ben-Hur” boasts a large cast of talented Inland Empire performers. Shane Prince portrays Judah Ben-Hur with the character’s best friend and nemesis Messala played by Jordan Crother. The musical also features Brad Roseborough as Balthasar, Celina Prince as Esther, Jonathan Bushey as Simonides, Raul Caraveo as Drusus, Emily Peterson as Tirzah and Saul Silva as Sheik Ilderim. Scott directs the production with assistant director Nathan Prince. Mary Lynn Mollner and Jeremy Yeo serve as Vocal Directors. Choreography is by Emilie Helvey with costume design by Machir Lakofka. Set Design is by Tim Mahoney. Performances began on Friday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m. and will continue on weekends through April 27. Performances are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2:15 and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:15 p.m.
