Voice of the People: Veterans Day

It is with great admiration and gratitude that I send this letter to acknowledge Colton City News for your Veterans Day Special Edition section published on Oct. 30. Veterans Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifices our veterans have made to protect our great nation. As a father of a Navy ROTC student and husband to a US Army vet, I beam with pride, for their volunteer of service is a testament of patriotic affirmation. Colton City News provided educational and historical facts, many of which I did not know. Your spotlight on a local Bronze Star recipient residing in Colton was a revealing perspective on the Vietnam era. Please continue to annually recognize and pay respect to some 23 million veterans who afforded me my freedoms.
