Detectives Investigate a Homicide in Grand Terrace on Sunday, Suspect in Custody

INCIDENT: Homicide Investigation

LOCATION: 22200 block of Lark Street, Grand Terrace

SUSPECT(S): Karen Welsher, 68-year-old Grand Terrace Resident

VICTIM(S): Scott Welsher, 68-year-old Grand Terrace Resident (Deceased)

SUMMARY: On Sunday, May 14, 2023, deputies from the Central Station were dispatched to respond to a reported shooting in the 22200 block of Lark Street, in Grand Terrace. Upon arriving, deputies detained the suspect, Karen Welsher. The victim, Scott Welsher, who is the husband of the suspect, was located inside the home suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded and are conducting the investigation. Karen Welsher was arrested and transported to a hospital for evaluation. She will be booked for PC-187, Murder. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available at this time.
