Grand Terrace Finds its Place on the Track

Auto Diagnostic Service LMR Racecar Team of Grand Terrace earned its second formula Mazda checkered flag Sunday, March 22 at 2.68-mile challenging 17 turns at Chuckwalla Desert Race Track near Desert Center, CA. Larry Mason, car owner and driver, used his aerospace engineering experience for Saturday’s practice to monitor his car's G-Force on its turns using a computer to ensure maximum speed. His hi-revving Mazda rotary engine gave him maximum acceleration on the straight aways. Due to tire wear he was held to a third place for Sunday’s start. With some fresh tires and Tom Englesman suspension's fine-tuning skills 3rd place transformed into 1st one third into the race and Mason led the balance of the race to his hard earned 2nd checkered flag for this season. Mason has come from behind before. Due to a suspension failure at the Dallas Texas, Grand Prix he crashed his racecar and broke both legs and ankles. However, 9-months into physical therapy he was back diving loaner racecars including Indy Lights. In the 2014 season he was back in his own racecar and under Tom Englesman of Auto Diagnostic Services Race Team Technical support for a driver-dream season. He had seven pole positions; nine wins, three track records and two championships. The 2015 season is off to a noteworthy start, taking first place in both races in the formula car class.
