Imagine living under martial law in a town occupied by the Confederate army. Suddenly a cannon blasts, smoke fills the air, and a hundred Union soldiers come rushing in. Before anyone can turn to run, a battle is raging.

Calico Ghost Town will come alive with Civil War battles, the sounds of bugles, and the thunder of cannon and musket fire on Feb. 17 to 18.   Calico, in partnership with the American Civil War Society, invite visitors to come and witness historic presentations, troop inspections, artillery demonstrations, military battles, and much more!   Battles will occur daily at 11:45 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.  Before the battles begin, watch as President Lincoln inspects his troops.  After the battle is over, find President Lincoln reading The Gettysburg Address in central Calico.  If the battles are too loud for the little ones, make sure to stop by the children’s craft booth.

Make sure to join us in Calico over Presidents Day Weekend as this Civil War reenactment weekend truly spotlights the reality of camp life and transports visitors back to the 19th Century.

Calico is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.  Saturday and Sunday admission to the event is $10 for adults, $5 for youth (4-13), and free for children 3 and under.
