New Partnership will Benefit Children in the Inland Empire

Santa Claus, Inc. Greater of San Bernardino (SCI) introduces an exciting new partnership with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Stater Bros., called Children Coat Closet. Children’s Coat Closet is a critical distribution of winter coats to school-aged children during the coldest season. Stater Bros. and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s employees launched a fun and successful coat drive, garnering more than 800 new and lightly-worn coats. Many of these coats arrived right on tome for SCI’s holiday distribution. The next batch will be distributed in early January 2016, as children in the Inland Empire return to school after winter break. The new program will deliver critically-useful warm coats to children through a network of school districts, other community-based organizations and through SCI’s various year-round programs. This new partnership is a wonderful addition to SCI’s existing menu or services. These coats and special donations will be welcomed by children this cold season. Children’s Coat Closet will be holding coat and other clothing drives throughout the year. All donations directly benefit SCI’s outreach and distribution programs which this past year served over 100,000 children. This is a new record for this 64-year-old children’s charity. A very special thank you to participating employees from Stater Bros., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and Santa Claus, Inc. for making this much needed program a reality.
