VHMS Students Claim Big Wins at Drama Tourney

MORENO VALLEY>> Theater students at Vista Heights Middle School in Moreno Valley who came away from the recent Drama Teachers Association of Southern California Competition with two first-place wins.
More than 20 schools competed and out of VHMS’s 11 entries, seven made it into the top 10.
“This was our fifth year participating in this event,” said teacher Autumn Earle-Rodriguez. “The students finally made it to the top.”
VHMS claimed first prize in the “Women Playwrights” and “Anything Goes for Children” categories; fourth place in the “Costumes and Make-up” category; and Honorable Mention in “Musical,” “Diversity,” “Sets and Lights” and “Graphics and Publicity” divisions. The two first-place-winning groups performed their scenes in front of all the participating schools.
