MORENO VALLEY >> With the one year countdown underway for the new Events Center, California Baptist University Director of Athletics Dr. Micah Parker announced the hiring of Jason Stephenson as the Director of Media Production and Zack LaGuardia as the Director of Ticketing.
Stephenson will direct all video, sound, lighting and technical operations for all Lancer sports events. In addition, he will oversee the university's chapel productions.
"We are thrilled to have Jason begin a new era in CBU Athletics in regards to media production," Parker said. "Jason has the unique blend of knowledge in sound, lighting and video that will turn our games into events."
A graduate of Azusa Pacific, Stephenson comes to CBU from Richland, Wash., where he oversaw state-of-the-art audio, video and lighting productions for large scale multi-location venues, including churches and theatrical productions. He is excited to return to Southern California.
"I want to thank the CBU leadership team of President Dr. Ronald L. Ellis, Kent Dacus and Dr. Parker for this opportunity," Stephenson said. "This is a great time to be a part of CBU."
LaGuardia also joins CBU Athletics and will be in charge of ticketing, especially season tickets and online ticket sales for when the Events Center opens in 2017.
"Zack brings the experience of having worked with a complex ticket system," Parker said. "He will be a much needed addition to the Lancer family and is another piece of the Events Center that will help bring a great fan experience to Lancer nation."
A graduate from Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y., LaGuardia spent the last four years as the Director of Ticketing for NCAA Division I Loyola Marymount. There, he managed all box-office sales and operations for seven DI programs, as well as ticketed musical and theater productions on campus. He implemented and designed the functionality of LMU's new ticket system, which generated an increase of 42-percent in internet sales for the Lions and allowed theater and musical productions to be sold online for the first time in university history.
"I'm very excited to be a part of CBU Athletics, especially heading into the Events Center," LaGuardia said. "I'd like to thank Dr. Ellis, Kent Dacus and Dr. Parker for this opportunity."
"We are thrilled to have both Jason and Zack on board," said Micah Fuller, Associate Athletic Director for Marketing and Media Relations. "We are quickly transitioning into a new era at CBU. With our new Events Center rising, we wanted to bring in the most talented people that will give our students, alumni and fans the best fan engagement experience possible."
