A heat alert for cool center activation has been triggered. With temperatures expected to remain above 97 degrees for the next five to seven days in most Riverside County cities, individuals susceptible to heat, such as the elderly and young children are encouraged to locate a cool center if an air conditioned home is unavailable. The designated cool centers in Moreno Valley are located at: Moreno Valley Senior Center, 25075 Fir Ave. Monday - Friday: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Moreno Valley Conference and Recreation Center, 14075 Frederick St. Monday - Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m., Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Moreno Valley Library, 25480 Alessandro Blvd. Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m., Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Sunday: 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. People with the following symptoms should try to remain in a cool place and drink water to prevent dehydration: headache, dizziness, weakness or muscle pains, and nausea or vomiting. Cool center services are offered by the Community Action Partnership of Riverside County, County of Riverside Department of Public health, Riverside County Fire Department, Community Connect, and the American Red Cross.
