Early Thanksgiving Message

By Ulises Cabrerra, City of Moreno Valley Mayor

This Thanksgiving, I’m once again reminded of just how lucky we are to call Moreno Valley home. This holiday gives us the chance to slow down, reflect, and recognize all the good that surrounds us—especially the incredible community we’ve built together.

First, I want to recognize my family—my wife Carina and our son—who fill my life with so much love and inspiration. Their support is the foundation of everything I do, and I’m endlessly thankful for them. But what’s remarkable is that I feel this same sense of family throughout Moreno Valley; we share a bond that feels closer than just neighbors or fellow residents.

I’m especially thankful for the volunteers who bring such energy and heart to our Beautify MoVal Community Days of Service. The way you step up, time and again, to keep our parks and neighborhoods looking their best makes a visible difference that all of us get to enjoy. Thank you for rolling up your sleeves at each and every event, and for taking such pride in our City.

We’re also fortunate to have local nonprofits and community organizations who put their hands and hearts to work supporting our neighbors in need. Through everything you do—providing meals, shelter, and the kindness that reminds people they’re not alone—you’re lifting families and creating hope. Your impact touches so many lives, and we are so grateful for all you do.

To our hardworking City staff, thank you for all you do to keep Moreno Valley thriving. Whether you’re out in the field or behind the scenes, your dedication shapes the City we’re proud to call home, day in and day out.

Most importantly, I’m thankful for each of you—the residents of Moreno Valley—who fill our City with warmth, kindness, and community spirit. Your passion and support make this City feel like a family, and that’s a gift we can all be grateful for this season.

On behalf of everyone here at the City, I wish you and your loved ones a joyful, restful, and safe Thanksgiving. Let’s continue building this beautiful community together, side by side.
