Lincoln Chafee may be out, but Vista Heights Middle School teacher Susan Young is most definitely in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination. The social studies teacher is legally filed as a candidate for the purpose of...what else?...teaching her students about the American electoral system. "If she can manage middle school students, she can certainly manage our country!" stated on Young's website. Her "campaign" website "Young For President" features student papers exploring pros and cons on a wide variety of issues. Viewers can click on questions to learn about the Young4President positions on important issues, such as the crime, education, health care, guns, immigration, and social security just to name a few. "This page is currently under construction," stated on the website. "My campaign advisors (i.e. my 8th grade students) are currently conducting their research on these important issues. The links will become active as soon as they complete this assignment."
