City Council Recognizes Serrano Nursery as Successful Colton Business

At the recent Council Meeting October 15, Council Member Dr. G (Dr. Luis S. González) presented Andres and Marina Serrano, owners of Serrano Nursery with a Business Focus Recognition Award for its successful business in the City of Colton. This well-known establishment actually had a humble beginning starting their business in 1993 in their own backyard. Within four years, their business grew and they moved their operation to the corner of Reche Canyon and Prado Lane, where it is currently located.  Although that was a big step, this 5-acre parcel soon has become the local “go to “place for plants, flowers, and landscaping ideas. To be sure, many people in our community have adorned their yards with products from Serrano Nursery.

To say that Serrano Nursery has been a successful family business is a good description. Not only does it describe its small business model, but also describes its commitment to the Colton community of families. As we all know, small businesses drive this community and provide a sense of local pride with our residents, as well as contributing to our “home-grown” quality of life, especially in the Reche Canyon area.

This business not only thrives but has survived 30 years, weathering a slow start, a rough economy and the pandemic. No matter what, Andres and Marina and their helpers show up to work at 8:00am ready to serve you, and provide you with an excellent array of flowers, plants, and trees, and even decorator items for your garden to fit your “yardscape” needs.

Everyone is invited to stop by and visit. Feel free to browse. They are open Mon-Fri 8:00am – 4:00pm, and Sat 8:00am -1:00pm. They are nearby, they welcome everyone, and you can park right near the entrance. The atmosphere is comfortable, relaxing and you will thoroughly enjoy the beautiful color display as you shop or browse.

Andres and Marina Serrano are to be congratulated for their tremendous effort in establishing Serrano Nursery as a successful business in Colton. We truly hope that they will continue their successful business for years to come, and we want to recognize them for providing a wonderful convenience to our residents, and making a valuable contribution to our local economy.
