GRAND TERRACE>> On Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016, at approximately 7:12 a.m., school staff from the Grand Terrace Elementary School called the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department and reported a student being struck by a vehicle on his way to school at the intersection of Barton Rd and Michigan Ave. Sheriff’s Central units assigned to the City of Grand Terrace responded to the school and the location of the accident and began investigating the incident. The child involved in the accident had been transported to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and treated for minor injuries. Central Station Detectives followed up the investigation and were able to obtain high resolution clear color video of the accident through the City of Grand Terrace. Detectives were able to identify the license plate on the vehicle involved and on Sunday, Nov. 13 they were able to identify the driver as Gloria Rosales. Rosales was cooperative with detectives during her interview on Nov. 15 at Central Station and investigators determined there was no criminal intent to make an arrest. The case has been forwarded to the district attorney for review. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is urged to contact Central Station.
