SAN BERNARDINO>> There is a faint of aroma of cinnamon, cloves and vanilla drifting in the kitchen. Do you know what that means? The holidays are almost here. This year, you can dazzle your friends and family with yummy, easy-to-make and budget-friendly gifts. Community members, friends and family are invited to join the Master Food Preservers' class Sept. 15 to learn how to make Gifts from the Kitchen with the professionals. Participants can learn how to make salted caramels, gourmet baked goods, bath and beauty treats, special packaging for your preserves and learn how to gift plants. Those in attendance will also receive a "swag" bag of goodies and a handout with recipes. The class is located at 670 Colton Ave., located at the Hutton Community Center in Colton. The class is from 6:30-9 p.m. and costs $20. Register by Sept. 13 to get $5 off the fee. Check or money order only, no cash. For more information, contact Pat Malone at (909)387-2194 or liltxpm44@yahoo.com. Those who are interested can also visit cesanbernardino.ucanr.edu.
