Supporting their mission to prevent child abuse in our community, the West End Auxiliary of Children’s Fund will host their annual gala and home tour fundraiser on April 20 and 21. New to the event this year will be a Champions For Children Gala on Friday, April 20 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Doubletree Hotel in Claremont. Pro Football Hall of Famer, Eric Dickerson, will be the featured speaker along with Dr. Ciriaco “Cid” Pinedo, President and CEO of Children’s Fund.

The event will include a silent auction featuring autographed sports memorabilia, jewelry, and hand-made quilts along with many other one-of-a-kind items. In addition, the auxiliary will host a Fund-A-Cause activity to support a summer sports camp dedicated to needy children. Hors d oeuvres and champagne will be provided for those who attend.

Three unique homes will be on tour in Claremont from 9:30-4:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, only.   The tour will feature a mid-century modern residence at 2535 N. Mountain Ave, an Asian-inspired home at 1047 E. Pomelo Drive, and a Tuscany charmer at 4438 Rocky Mountain. Each of the homes is beautifully decorated with interesting artwork and lush landscaping that is perfect for entertaining in style.

Children’s Fund was founded over 30 years ago to serve abused, neglected and impoverished children throughout San Bernardino and eastern Los Angeles counties. Since their inception, they have served over 1.5 million children and last year alone, more than 69,000 services were provided to children in need.  According to Kerry Castel De Oro, event chairman, “Our goal is that abused children will be treated and given hope for a better future for themselves.” For more information about Children’s Fund and West End Auxiliary, please visit www.childrensfund.org/

Tickets for Gala and Home Tour are $100 per person and may be purchased in advance from any Auxiliary member. Tickets for the home tour only are $35 and may be purchased from many of the businesses in downtown Claremont.
