Mortal dreams abound,
cement stairs
lead to a statue of
a forgotten soul.
Every night immortals
bleed their supernatural tears
into blades of grass
that crushes easily underfoot.
Winds blow, trees flutter
making lullabies-
Piercing stale silence as it
hangs in thin darkness.
Iron gates enclose this graveyard
Not to maintain the dead,
But to keep the living out.
