Student Makes MVUSD Proud

The 2019 Excellence Through Equity Conference honored and focused on student voice in continuing efforts to achieve equitable learning environments in public schools. Being intentional about providing space for student thoughts, ideas, and insights helps transform school climates and empower administrators and teachers to reshape their equity work.

One of our students, Korbin Brown from Valley View High School, was selected to speak at the conference to represent Moreno Valley Unified School District.

"Mr. Brown never fails to impress me," said Dr. Kedziora. "I am proud of the way he presented himself in front of over 1,200 educators. He embodies our Lift to Rise philosophy and is a proud product of the Moreno Valley Unified School District."

By listening and valuing students' voices, students are acknowledged as valued members of the education system.

“Student voice is important,” said Board President Jesús M. Holguín. “They have a different perspective than we do. We value what they have to say and what they bring to the table."
