SAN BERNARDINO>> Stater Bros. Markets will hold a public “Celebration of Life” in remembrance of its Executive Chairman Jack H. Brown. The event will be open to the public Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 starting at 9 a.m. at the Citizens Business Bank Arena, located at 4000 Ontario Center Pkwy in Ontario, CA 91764. Brown was surrounded by his entire family when he passed away on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016 at 10:45 p.m. “Grief is not a strong enough word to describe what the Stater Bros. ‘Family’ feels,” stated Stater Bros. President and CEO Pete Van Helden. “Jack touched every one of us in a very personal way, and it is that legacy that we must carry forward. He loved the business, his company and each one of us." Brown served as the Chairman of the Board, President, Chief Executive Officer and most recently Executive Chairman of Stater Bros. Markets for more than 35 years. Through Brown’s vision and leadership, Stater Bros. has become the largest privately owned Supermarket Chain in Southern California, currently operating 169 Supermarkets in seven counties with nearly 18,000 members of the Stater Bros. Supermarket “Family”. Brown served the Supermarket Industry for more than 65 years. Brown is survived by his cherished wife Debbie, three beloved daughters; J. Kathleen Smith (Michael Smith), Cara Hoffman (Scott Hoffman) and Melissa Koss (Pete Koss). He had seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Colleen, Caden, Dylan, Julianna, Jack Ryan and Emma.
