MORENO VALLEY>> The City of Moreno Valley announced the re-launch of the Moreno Valley Employment Resource Center after undergoing several renovations. The overhaul features new computers that were purchased with a $53,000 grant from the Western Regional Council of Governments. The renovation also features new carpet, paint, window tint, plumbing improvements, security system and signage. "The ERC is a critical component of the city's award-winning Hire MoVal initiative," said Mayor Dr. Yxstian A. Gutierrez. "With Hire MoVal, the council has worked hard to increase local job opportunities for Moreno Valley residents through partnerships with the Riverside County Workforce Development Center and local employers. The new computers and renovation will greatly improve our capacity to provide better service to our residents seeking employment and our businesses seeking quality applicants." The ERC is a partnership between the City of Moreno Valley and Riverside County Workforce Development Center. Services include workshops, computer access, resume assistance and job coaching for job seekers. Job seekers are encouraged to visit the city website to sign-up for the Hire MoVal Job Seekers list to receive local job information delivered to their inbox. In addition, the ERC provides more than 10,000 individual service requests to the community annually.
