Voice of the People: Exciting News from District 4

By Yxstian Gutierrez, Mayor Pro Tem, City of Moreno Valley
September 16, 2015 at 09:11am. Views: 74

As your Mayor Pro Tem, I am committed to keeping Moreno Valley beautiful, which is why I championed efforts to establish a weekly Community Service Workers (CSW) program for District 4. Every weekend, we now have 25 allocated probation workers to clean District 4. I am also working on installing trash cans in specific locations. Please let me know any areas where we can bolt trash cans… Your feedback is very much appreciated. Advocated for MoVal at the Riverside Transit Agency and voted for 7 new bus stop stations/shelters. These shelters will be strategically placed in high usage areas in our city. Approved the Go-Pass agreement which will continue to provide Moreno Valley College and Cal Baptist University students free access to public transportation with just the swipe of their college card. I have championed efforts to bring jobs to Moreno Valley. In just less than two months, Hire MoVal has already proven success. Fisker Automotive, a luxury car company, has decided to do business in Moreno Valley by developing a car manufacturing plant in the south end of the city. Additionally, Deckers Footwear Company has also decided to expand their business in Moreno Valley and participate in Hire MoVal. I also voted to support the World Logistics Center, which is expected to bring 20,000 jobs and economic benefit to our city, and I honored 23 local students placed at city facilities to gain internship experience and served as the State of the City’s “emcee” on Thursday, Aug. 27. Additionally, YouthFest showcased youth-oriented businesses and services in a fun community atmosphere. This event took place on Sept. 12 at the Community Park on Frederick Street. Contact Me As always, I'm here to serve you and listen to what you want, so please do not hesitate to attend one of my many meet and greets or schedule a meeting by calling me at City Hall at 951-413-3008 or emailing me at yxstiang@moval.org.
