Families throughout San Bernardino will once again have access to free nutritious meals for children during the summer months through the San Bernardino City Unified School District's Summer Meals 2026 program.
The annual program provides free lunches to all children and teens 18 years of age and younger, helping ensure that local youth continue to receive healthy meals while school is out of session. No application is required, making the program accessible to families across the community.
Meal service begins June 8 and runs through July 31 at multiple locations throughout San Bernardino, including parks, community centers, family engagement centers, and school-adjacent sites. Locations include Delmann Heights, Lytle Creek, Rudy C. Hernandez Community Center, Verdemont Community Center, the Center for Individual Development, Arroyo Valley High School Family Engagement Center, San Bernardino High School Family Engagement Center, San Gorgonio High School Family Engagement Center, and the Páxám Áwám Welcome Center.
Lunch service times vary by location, generally occurring between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on weekdays. Several sites will be closed on select holidays, including June 19 and July 3.
District officials encourage families to take advantage of the program, which helps combat food insecurity and provides children with balanced meals during the summer break. Meals must be eaten on-site and are available exclusively for children and youth.
