Halloween festivities, which brought together residents, businesses, and service groups for a night of fun, candy, and creativity. The event, known as the Trunk-or-Treat, took place in the Walgreens parking lot for the second year in a row and was hailed as a massive success.

City News Group delved into the details of this exciting community event, which attracted over 2500 ghouls, ghosts, superheroes and more, descended upon the festive gathering, with estimates suggesting that the number might have even approached 3000.  This year's Trunk-or-Treat featured various businesses and service groups, including the fire department and the sheriff's department, all uniting in the spirit of Halloween to distribute candy to the eager trick-or-treaters. The addition of food trucks for the first time was well-received and contributed to the event's overall success.

The City of Grand Terrace expressed their gratitude to Walgreens for generously offering their parking lot for the event, despite the temporary disruption it caused to their store's parking operations. This collaboration showcased the strong sense of community spirit that runs deep in the City of Grand Terrace.

It was mentioned that not only local residents but also kids from nearby Highgrove attended the event. The safe and controlled environment provided an ideal setting for families to celebrate Halloween. With the presence of the sheriff's department and fire department, parents could ensure the safety of their children while collecting candies from known and trusted sources.

The event was a momentous undertaking by the city, demonstrating its commitment to fostering a strong sense of community. Bolowich explained that the city hosted the event in collaboration with local businesses, service clubs, and community members who eagerly participated in handing out candy and getting dressed up for the occasion.

Several businesses and organizations made valuable contributions to the event. The JC Wallace House brought in some of its residents to distribute candy, promoting positive interaction and engagement within the community. The Lions Club turned a truck into a pirate ship, adding a unique twist to the festivities. Another standout attraction was the trailer provided by Get Loaded, which transformed into a mini-haunted house, delighting both kids and adults alike.

While no pictures of the inside of the haunted house were confirmed, there are available images of the Lions Club's pirate-themed truck, adding a spectacular visual element to the event.

The event showcased the creativity and dedication of these businesses and service groups, all of which are vital members of the community. It was a fantastic night filled with laughter and shared experiences.

The Mayor Bill Hussey and his Council Sylvia Robles, Jeff Allen, Ken Henderson showed their support in attendance to the event, further highlighting the spirit of Halloween and community within the city.

Overall, the Trunk-or-Treat was a tremendous success, emphasizing the strong sense of community spirit that thrives within the city. Photo Caption: Crime in San Bernardino has dropped by 30 percent or more throughout the city. One reason is that there are more officers on the streets. The Police Department’s goal is to have 350 sworn officers. Current full-time staffing is reported at 295 sworn officers and 156 professional staff.
