This week's GTHS athlete of the week goes to Brandon St. Aubin!

Brandon is a senior involved in football and has played for seven years. Some of his hobbies include working out, spending time with family and friends, video games, and working on bettering his craft with the KO Bros and T.E.S.A.

Brandon received an honorable mention in Grand Terrace Football last season and was league champion in the shot put for the Grand Terrace Track team. "This year, I am coming for everything in football, wrestling, and track (shot put and disc)," said Brandon determined.

When asked what motivates him, Brandon responded, "For me, motivation comes in many forms, it starts with knowing it has to be me! I have to want it, I have to be the biggest dog on the field, mat, and ring, and I have to enjoy the grind and know there are bigger plans ahead for me."

Brandon continued, "Family and friends have always pushed me to work harder and have been there to pick me up when I’m at my lowest, thank you, Mom and Mac. Finally, it’s my Coaches, Longsworth, Jackson, Appleton, Mailo, and Perez for seeing something in me and pushing me even when I don’t think I could be pushed! Also, Coach Reyes (TESA) and Coach Leo (KOBROS) these guys will motivate you to no end there is no quit with them!"

"Plans change from day to day," answered the senior when asked about his future plans. "However, right now I’m looking at attending Chaffey College for a season or two before moving to a big school. It's time to mature and build my craft before moving forward, with no wasted time or reps!"

Brandon continued, "Eventually, I want to earn my way into a power school get my education done, and learn a trade so I have something to fall back on because I love a sport that doesn’t always love you back and unfortunately this game has an expiration date."

"There are two quotes that I carry with me," said Brandon. “Stay low, hit hard, drink black coffee, and listen to Slayer! Man Up!” (from Coach Longsworth) and, “worries only grow through hard work, blood, sweat, and tears, where IRON SHARPENS IRON!” (Coach Elliot Reyes, TESA).
