Freshman standout Izayah Nicholas Ochoa is already leaving his mark at Grand Terrace High School, excelling both in the classroom and on the football field. Carrying an impressive 3.9 GPA while playing multiple positions for the Titans, Izayah has shown he can balance the demands of being a student athlete. He will also be celebrating his 15th birthday on September 28th, so be sure to wish him a happy birthday when you see him.

Izayah has been passionate about football since the age of five, playing both flag and tackle. Today, he represents the GTHS Titans and plans to also run track later this year. On the football field, he’s a versatile athlete, taking on roles as Quarterback, Cornerback, Wide Receiver, Punt Returner, and Free/Strong Safety. He does admit that his favorite position is Safety.

In the Titans’ recent matchup against Perris High School, Izayah’s talents were on full display. He connected with his receivers for several big plays, including a 45-yard touchdown pass to Owen Garcia #13 and a series of long throws to Baltazar Araya #80. Defensively, he contributed to the Titans’ dominant shutout victory, proving his ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball.

Outside of football, Izayah enjoys playing video games with friends and teammates. His athletic career has already been decorated with accomplishments, including Honor Roll recognition, making All-Stars in Jr. All-American football and even received an invitation to compete in the Junior Olympics for track.

When asked what inspires him, Izayah credits his older brother, "My big brother, Christian Ochoa, has been a huge influence in my life. He showed me what it takes to be a leader on and off the field. He played for this school and continues to encourage me as I play in high school.” Christian also attended GTHS and as I like to say, “Once a Titan, Always a Titan.”

Looking ahead, Izayah has his sights set on earning a scholarship to a Division I program, with schools like Oregon and Washington at the top of his list because of personal family connections.

A favorite quote that motivates him is from NFL legend Mike Singletary, "Do you know what my favorite part of the game is? The opportunity to play."

With his academic excellence, athletic skills, and the drive to keep improving, Izayah is already paving the way for a bright future. This Titan is one to watch and his journey is only just beginning. The best is yet to come for our Titan.
