At just 16 years old, Jaeda Mitchell is already making her mark both in the classroom and on the court. A junior at Grand Terrace High School, Jaeda maintains a 3.1 GPA while balancing a busy schedule filled with academics, athletics, and hobbies.

Jaeda’s athletic journey began early. She was a gymnast from the age of 4 through 14, competing for a decade before discovering her passion for volleyball. As a sophomore, she tried out for the sport with GTHS and earned a spot on the Varsity team in her very first season.

Since then, she has become a valuable player for the Lady Titans. In a recent game against Notre Dame, Jaeda stood out with her consistent, no-miss serves, aggressive net play, sharp passing, and strong serve receive skills. She also brings a contagious energy to the court, always encouraging her teammates and leading with positivity.

Her accomplishments speak for themselves. At 12 years old, Jaeda was crowned Regional Champion on bars in gymnastics. More recently, she received the All-Tournament Team medal at the Rancho Verde Mustang Classic Girls Volleyball Tournament.

Outside of sports, Jaeda enjoys drawing and listening to music.

When asked who inspires her the most, she didn’t hesitate and said, “My mom because she has always supported me in any sport or anything I have done. She encourages me to keep moving forward and to believe in myself.”

Looking ahead, Jaeda plans to attend college where she hopes to play volleyball while pursuing a career as a veterinarian, combining her love of athletics with her passion for helping animals.

She also shared one of her favorite quotes by Oscar Wilde, “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.”

Grateful for the recognition by Coach Purdie, Jaeda added, “I am very thankful for the recognition, and I am going to continue to show up for my team.”

We’ve watched Jaeda’s growth this past year, and it has been nothing short of inspiring. With her talent, determination, and strong support system, she is sure to continue shining both on and off the court. The future looks incredibly bright for this Lady Titan.
