Grand Terrace High School has welcomed a new football head coach with an impressive background and a deep commitment to both the sport and his players' academic success—Coach Ryan Taylor. With years of experience in various coaching roles, Coach Taylor brings a wealth of knowledge and a clear vision for the future of the Titans' football program.

Coach Taylor's journey began in the 2016-2017 season at San Marcos High School in North San Diego County, where he served in multiple capacities, including Offensive Coordinator, Varsity Assistant Head Coach, Interim Head Coach, and Defensive Coordinator. His next step was at Palomar College, where he took on roles such as Tight Ends Coach, Quarterbacks Coach, Run Game Coordinator, Offensive Analyst, and Co-Offensive Recruiting Coordinator. Most recently, he served as the Offensive Coordinator and Interim Head Coach at San Bernardino Valley College before joining Grand Terrace High School.

Coach Taylor's coaching career is marked by notable accomplishments, such as leading teams to the Open Division Playoffs with San Marcos High School and contributing to Palomar College becoming the top Junior College in California for signing players to four-year programs.

At the heart of Coach Taylor's coaching philosophy is the development of elite individuals who are always ready for the next challenge. He emphasizes the importance of unity, sacrifice, and love—values encapsulated in the acronym F.A.M.I.L.Y. ("Forget About Me, I Love You"). His focus on the general development of student-athletes, emphasizing the importance of academics, highlights his commitment to preparing them for success both on and off the field.

Coach Taylor recognizes the critical role coaches play in the lives of student-athletes, serving not only as mentors in sports but also as educators who support their academic journeys. By promoting hard work, discipline, accountability, and honesty, Coach Taylor aims to equip his players with essential life skills. He believes that academic success is foundational for future success and strives to ensure his players are not only eligible for college but also equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in life. The coaching staff supports students through grade checks, study halls, and promoting the school's after-school tutoring program.

As a leader, Coach Taylor values consistency, communication, and collaboration. He understands the importance of involving his staff in the decision-making process and values their insights and connection to the community. He is focused on building a positive team culture through education, consistent application of values, and learning from mistakes.

It's clear that Coach Taylor is passionate about the GTHS football program and the community it represents. His excitement to collaborate with the staff and build on the program's foundation reflects his dedication to making a lasting impact. With his leadership, the Titans are poised for growth and success in the seasons to come.

Coach Taylor looks forward to what the future holds for the Titans football family, knowing that the best is yet to come.

We are excited to see the positive influence Coach Taylor will have on the team and wish him and the Titans all the best for the upcoming season!

We hope the Grand Terrace community will come out and support our Titans this upcoming football season. Join us at the games and cheer loud and proud by showing your Titan Pride as they strive for greatness. Your presence and encouragement mean the world to our Titans, and together, we can make this season one to remember! Go Titans!
